In January 2010 I took photographs inside the theatre my mother used to work at.

She had sung in the opera choir for thirty years.
Growing up, much of my time was spent in the auditorium and the backstage areas of this building - I held an elementary school birthday party there once, which was likely perceived by my guests as the lousiest event imaginable.
The enormous paint shop convinced me that I wanted to paint backdrops one day - which I doubt I ever will, but I do still love the smell and the light;
a light which seems to be permanently like that of a winter morning.
